Friends of the Joliet Public Library logo

The Friends of the Joliet Public Library is a non-profit organization made up of people who support the library by raising funds to help sponsor programs and provide library materials.
Since 1968, the Friends have donated over $150,000 to
the benefit of Joliet Public Library patrons and staff.

Our Friends group :

  • Sponsors and provides funding for library programs/events
  • Provides matching funds for grants
  • Provides funds for the purchase of items for the library's collection and computer hardware and software
  • Provides volunteer workers for library events
  • Raises funds by maintaining an ongoing 'book sale' and selling T-shirts at both library locations
  • Holds small book sales at library events
  • Holds larger sales several times per year

Friend members:

  • Are allowed early admittance to sales and first pick of sale items
  • Meet quarterly to discuss fundraising ideas and set sale/meeting dates
