  • The Great Read

The Great Read is a collaboration of libraries and Plainfield District 202 to promote literacy, reading, conversation and community. This year’s Great Read will focus on the life and lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

By attending any Great Read program, or by reading a MLK, Jr. book, you can enter a free drawing to win a Barnes & Noble gift card. In the spirit of giving and peace, please bring canned goods or supplies to the opening and/or closing events to benefit Bags of Hope, Morningstar Mission of Joliet and St. John Food Pantry. Visit www.greatread.org for more information.

Using the Library

The Hidden Department in the Library

The Hidden Department in the Library

We’re the Technical Services Department, but we’re not what our name implies! Our name makes people think we handle computers and technology. While we happen to be very tech-savvy, what we really do is order, add to the catalog and process all the items patrons can check out. We add approximately 3,000 items to the collection each month.
