The Joliet Area Little Free Library Community Project is a joint literacy project bringing 12 Little Free Libraries to the Joliet Area |
A Little Free Library is a free book exchange that belongs to you and your neighborhood. You may see them pop up around your community. They can be all shapes and sizes, but usually they are recognized as a small wooden box. Anyone may use it---neighbors, friends and local visitors.
If you see something you’d like to read, take it! It’s for you. Some books include a note about who gave it or has read it. You may choose to leave your own note in it when you’re done.
All book donations are welcome and appreciated! When you’re finished with a book, pass it along to a friend or return it to any other Joliet Area Little Free Library found on this map.
Check out our Facebook Page @JolietCommunityLFLs to share your stories, ask questions or to find out more about how to contribute!
Book donations can be made directly to a Little Free Library! All book donations are welcome, for all ages, reading levels and in all languages. Please avoid donating moldy items, videos and magazines. As the Little Free Libraries are intended to appeal to visitors of all ages and backgrounds, please avoid donating explicit, graphic and potentially offensive reading material. For information on donating books directly to the Friends of Joliet Public Library to support ongoing library efforts including the Little Free Libraries, visit the Friends of the Joliet Public Library page, or contact the Joliet Public Library.
Nonprofit community literature can be distributed directly to the Little Free Libraries, or through contacting the project coordinator via Facebook.
