Teen Volunteer Corps Application
Our Teen Volunteer Corps is helping teenagers in our community earn volunteer hours, help out with children’s programming and services, and be involved in the Joliet Public Library. This is your opportunity to get the volunteer hours that you need for school or church (or just for fun) and enjoy yourself doing it.
To join our Teen Volunteer Corps, you must:
- Be in 8th-12th grade
- Have a working email address that you check regularly for all volunteer correspondence
- Have transportation to either of the Joliet Public Library branches
- Fill out a Teen Volunteer Corps application form
Each month, the Youth Services Department from each branch will email out a list of times that we need volunteers for. Most of the opportunities will involve setting up for programs and cleaning up afterward, as well as assisting the program presenters with anything they need during the event. We will also have weekly slots available for teens to assist in preparing for programs or services by cutting, folding, cleaning books, and putting books in order. You will receive a monthly email with a link to sign up for volunteer slots. Slots will fill up quickly. Because our needs determine the number of volunteers we use, the library may not be able to offer you all of the hours you need for any volunteer requirements. Priority will be given to high school students working on graduation requirements. The Teen Volunteer Corps does not accept applications for court mandated community service hours.
