Free tote with sign up

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Joliet Public Library is celebrating in a big way! Starting Monday, September 2, the first 50 people who sign up for a new library card at each branch will receive a free JPL tote bag. (Please note: we’re closed on Sunday, September 1 for Labor Day.)

If you’ve been thinking about getting a library card, or signing your kids up, now is the perfect time!

Special Note for Unincorporated Joliet Residents:
If you live in Joliet Township and have children ages 3-17, they are eligible for Joliet Public Library cards at no additional cost under the “Cards for Kids Act.”

👉 What you’ll need: Just bring your valid ID when you sign up.

With your Joliet Public Library card, you’ll unlock access to so many resources:

  • 📚 Borrow books, movies, and even video games

  • 🎶 Stream music, movies, and TV shows online

  • 🖥 Reserve study rooms and meeting rooms in advance

  • 🎧 Explore the Digital Media Studio: record audio, take professional photos, print T-shirts, use the Cricut, make buttons, and more

  • 🔎 Access digital resources and databases anytime

  • 🏛 Check out a Museum Adventure Pass for free or discounted admission to area museums

There’s no better time to sign up or to encourage your kids to get their first card. Stop by your favorite branch starting September 2 to claim your tote and discover all the ways your library card can work for you!
