The Joliet Public Library Board is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees.
The trustees are appointed by the Mayor for a three-year term.
The Library Board of Trustees is responsible for establishing policy, authorizing services, establishing the budget, hiring the Executive Director, and authorizing the collection of the designated millage. Library Board members do not receive compensation for their services.
The Joliet Public Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.
Agendas are posted 48 hours prior to the meeting. Minutes are posted within seven days of approval.
Board Meeting Schedule
The public is welcome to attend board meetings. The Library Board meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm.
Any person needing an accommodation for a disability in order to attend a board meeting at the Library should contact the ADA Compliance Officer by telephone at 815-740-2669, by email at business@jolietlibrary.org or in writing, not less than five (5) working days prior to the meeting.
